Crew Profiles

In keeping with high Lürssen standards, Capri offers a very professional, service-oriented crew. Whatever your taste or desire, the crew members will make sure you are well taken care of during your cruise.

CAPTAIN - Paul Bell, British
Paul was born in Portsmouth and from a young age has had an affiliation with the sea. He has taken his hobby and has been employed in the marine Industry for over 15 years, 12 of which in the capacity of Captain. Paul started off sailing from Bali through to Venezuela and back to England. This trip alone confirmed Paul's love of the industry and he quickly realized he had the ability to satisfy guests dreams. For relaxation Paul enjoys cooking and spending any free time with his young family. Paul holds a MCA Master of yachts >3000gt license.

CHIEF ENGINEER - Robert Millar, Scottish
Robert hails from the West of Scotland and now calls Southern Holland home. From an early age he has been involved with all kinds of engineering; his family operating a large trucking and excavation company in Scotland. After a brief trip to Florida in 1986 and a change from land based to nautical engineering, Robert's yachting career started. Progressing to Chief Engineer at an early age of 23, Robert has sailed extensively worldwide on yachts ranging from 50 to 74 meters, and now holds a Class I Engineering license, Robert has been on board Capri since 2005. Robert has a ten year old son who he spends his vacation time with in Holland. Hobbies include cycling, golf and flying radio controlled models.

FIRST OFFICER - John Lowe, British
John Lowe, MCA Master (Yachts >3000gt) has served aboard Capri for over four years and has had a career within the marine industry spanning "two decades" with over 150,000 miles cruised as First Officer or Captain. During John's era in the marine industry he has had the pleasure of serving aboard vessels such as the Virginian, Charade, Mi Gaea / Blue Moon, Shandor and Itasca to name a few. John has gained a large understanding and extensive experience of vessel management, navigation and passage planning with view to safety and professionalism at the forefront. John enjoys a keen sense of humor and a passion for the ocean.

HEAD CHEF - Nathan Chilcott, Australia
Nathan was born into cookery being 3rd generation chef in his family. He was born and raised on the Australian Gold Coast where he completed his apprenticeship in 2002. Nathan has achieved numerous state and national medals through his dedication and passion for cooking. Nathan has worked in prestigious restaurants and hotels in Australia, Portugal, France and the UK. He also worked for Gordon Ramsey in his 2 Michelin Starred Restaurant in London. Nathan is a very passionate chef with a warming helpful character. He strives to produce the best quality food using the finest of ingredient. Please don't hesitate to stop into the galley and say "What's cooking Chef".

CHIEF STEWARDESS - Danielle Tucker, Australia
Danni was born in Melbourne on New Years Eve. After growing up in Western Victoria she left Australia at 23 to go backpacking for the next 4 years around Asia, the Middle East, Europe, America, Canada and South Africa. During this time she worked in all aspects of the hospitality industry. Danni heard about the yachting industry while completing the 1000 km walk to Santiago de Compostella in Spain. During her time in the industry she has filled the roles from cook, deckhand and has spent the last 4 ½ years as Chief Stewardess. She has recently come back refreshed from a 12 month trip traveling the Tran-Siberian railway through Russia, Mongolia, China, Tibet, Nepal, Myanmar, South East Asia and South America. With her experience and training in fine dining service, Danni will make your stay on CAPRI a very enjoyable one.

2ND ENGINEER - Pete Baker, British
Pete comes from South Shields which is located in the north East England. Pete started his career in shipping at the age of 16 where he served a 4 year apprenticeship as a diesel fitter in a ship repair yard located on the river Tyne. After completing his apprenticeship he went to work for a commercial shipping company, where he spent several years employed as a second engineer on an oil tanker. In April 2006 he joined yacht Capri which is his first yacht. Outside interests, he enjoys all aspects of outdoor activities, reading books, and furthering his career.

2nd OFFICER - Ryan Kelley, America
Ryan Kelley grew up in Kansas and as soon as he graduated from High School, decided it was time to explore the world. He began his travels and sea experience by playing the saxophone on cruise ships. Since then he has spent his time extensively in Europe and Africa and has a thirst to travel more.

Ryan began his yachting career in the year 2000. He is a PADI Master Diver and holds an MCA Chief Mate 3000gt License.

2ND CHEF - Kim Salmoni, Australian
Kim's 28 years young. Her birth place is the Nation's Capital in Australia. After completing her apprenticeship, it was time for the Sydney Olympics Kim catered to the Olympic family before establishing herself in London to further her culinary knowledge. After extensive sailing on the east coast of Australia, it seemed a natural transition into the yachting industry.

STEWARDESS - Monique Strater, Australia
Monique grew up in the busy metropolis of Sydney, Australia. While finishing high school she studied fashion design. After completing her studies she began her hospitality career as a cocktail bar tender at a multi award winning city hotel. Monique joined the yachting industry as it allows her to combine her two main interests of traveling and hospitality. In her spare time Monique enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and spending time at the beach. Monique looks forward to meeting your every need especially mixing you up a delicious cocktail.

STEWARDESS -Sarah Mackenzie, South African
Sarah is 20 years old and was born in Florida, USA but moved to Cape Town South Africa at the age of 3. Sarah joined the yachting industry after completing high school. She has been in the hospitality industry since the age of 16 and has worked at various restaurants, hotels and wine estates in the Cape Region. Sarah's hobbies include various forms of dance, relaxing at the beach and travelling. Having a love for the ocean and the will to satisfy your every need, she will ensure your stay on Capri is a very enjoyable one.

STEWARDESS - Veronica Gaya Russo - Italian
Veronica was born in Argentina, but grew up in Lake Como in Italy. She studied linguistics and Literature in Bergamo (Italy) and completed these studies in Barcelona. There, she was happily living a "normal" life teaching languages in schools and private companies when one day she got the bizarre and challenging offer to cross the Atlantic on a 26m sailing yacht. The experience changed her life. Since then, Veronica has been taking care of several boats and its guests including the service to a Royal Family. She speaks Spanish, Italian, French and English and will warmly contribute to make your stay on Capri a memorable one.

BOSUN - Drew Boor , British
Drew joins Capri from an Emergency Services background. After spending 5yrs at a Naval College he moved inland to study Physics & Japanese at Salford University. Drew enjoys music and plays the flute & saxophone. He loves travel & meeting new people.

DECK HAND - Daniel Roy, British
Dan is 23 years old. He was born in England where he has lived in a small coastal village in Lincolnshire for the past 10 years. Dan took his A Levels in Business, ICT and Accounts. He has been in yachting for 2 years after completing his Yacht Master and is now training towards his Officer Of The Watch. His love for yachts began when he took a small sailing course and then decided to pursue a career in yachting. He has a huge love for cars and enjoys any involvement with them. Hobbies include photography, ten pin bowling and exploring new places. He welcomes you on board and hopes that you enjoy your stay.

DECKHAND - Dan Simpson, British
Daniel is 21 years old and has been in the yachting industry for 2 years. He realized his love for the sea in his childhood on his parents motor boat in the south coast of England. Previous to yachting Dan worked at a Haulage Auto-transport company for two years. He has also worked in a series of country pubs and restaurants. At the age of 18 Dan successfully completed his Yacht Master license and is on the road to becoming a captain!
